Our first international trip was really successful. We represented our school, city of Olomouc and Olomouc region well and the musical and social levels were really high. This tour also meant that we repaid the visit to our Swiss friends (Lucerne Jazz Orchestra), who were in Olomouc in 2009. Two of their members - David Grottschreiber and Lukas Frei organized a workshop for our band in Lucerne, which brought so much inspiration and new knoledge to our musicians - many thanks to both of you for spending your time with us! Our orchestra played at the event of Open Source Kulturfestival, then we supported our Swiss colleagues from Big Band
Hochschule Luzern. We thank to the following subjects and persons for their support: City of Lucerne - Claudia Willi, City of Olomouc - Sona Horka, Olomouc Region, SOL (organizing, Swiss student organization with Frederic Haner and his team), Tereza Maskova (superb organizing, translation) and Olbus Service (transportation). Our stay in Lucerne also included the sightseeing, because one can't see so beautiful historic city every day and we were also honored to see the KKL, Lucerne's spectacular cultural center building at the end of our visit.

Finally we got out of the town to Jazz in Hall festival in Zabreh. Many thanks to Moravia Big Band Zabreh and Zabrezska Kulturni s.r.o. for their kind invitation and to their sound engineer as well - the sound was excelent! Some pictures will be added soon. The festival poster can be found here. |

We performed this donation concert, at this time for Olomouc's TyfloCentrum, which's task is to help to blind and weak-eyed persons. We of course invite all our fans too. This performance we dedicated mostly to swing and vocal numbers, featuring our singer Tereza Koleckarova. |

We were invited to perform on the ball of the Church Grammar School of the German Order at Olomouc Regional Center. In approx. one hour performance we featured Tereza Koleckarova's singing, supported by our swinging machine. |

Another traditional concert of Big Band ZUS-IK at JazzTibetClub. We featured our singer Tereza Koleckarova, with many swinging numbers, including a new arrangement of It Don't Mean a Thing (Duke Ellington, arr. Jakub Cervenka). We performed on donation concert "Koncert pro Troubky 2010", the village, which suffered terribely from this year's floodings. But by some mistake there wasn't too many people on the room. Many thanks to organizers - students of KEA, Olomouc for their heart and confidence! |

This was the two jazz orchestras show: Big Band ZUS Isi Krejciho and Mlady tynistsky big band. Our orchestra's rhythm section played in a new setting - on drums we presented Milos Pohl for the first time, who replaced Marek Sablik, and as the guest star we proudly brought Kamil Slezak - finally, this had been planned for so long time! The second half of the show we welcome the guest orchestra from Tyniste nad Orlici and under the direction of Pavel Plasil they introduced many of their repertoire numbers to us. This event went so well, that we decided to repeat it next year. There are some nice photos and audio recordings available for your pleasure. |

We are about to prepare another club event with Big Band ZUS Isi Krejciho. Additionally we feature our new guest singing star from Nederlands - Martin B Jazzy. He is going to join our singer Tereza and the orchestra brings to you some of the best charts from it's jazz-swing oriented library, including four newly made Thad Jones - Mel Lewis numbers. This will be the last performance before the school year ends, so let's enjoy it! |

The two big bands meeting, Big Band ZUS Isi Krejciho, and Lucerne Jazz Orchestra was very successfull pictures here!! It was a spectacular show and unusual musical experience, never seen on Olomouc before. The musicians of Lucerne Jazz Orchestra under the leadership of composer, arranger and conductor David Grottschreiber are real professionals and cool guys, the communication between the two bands did not stop for even one moment and let's hope we don't meet for the last time. In any case we had a great pleasure to be a part of the official partnership between cities Olomouc and Luzern, it left a deep and unforgettable impression in our minds. Our orchestra had a great time too, we played some new repertiore additions including my own arrangement of How High the Moon with Tereza Koleckarova's scat solo chorus. Marek Pechac is our new lead altoist, who also played few solos for the first time and we proudly featured the brushes of Marek Sablik in Neal Hefti's famous tune "Cute". |

Big Band ZUS Isi Krejciho got invited to perform on Swing Zije! festival again. This year we had an opportunity to play for full 90 minutes! The orchestra showed itself in a great shape. Our unique rhythm section played exceptionally good and all soloists, singers and the whole band very much enjoyed the performance. Unfortunatelly as festival is so nice, it doesn't receive proper advertisement (there is no official festival website) - it deserves to get more listeners to the house and communication media also did not pay enough attention to this beautiful and really pleasing occation. We thank to Mirek Nop for an invitation and to Mr.Petrik's team for a great sound - it felt so good on stage! We hope to meet in those representative and comfortable rooms of Olomouc Regional Center with a lot of swinging music again. Here are some videos from this concert!

Big Band ZUS Isi Krejciho played at Olomouc Jazz Tibet Club with an international audience - our school hosted the group of teachers and students from Italian Accademia Musicale Tollese and additionally this had been the fitst concert from this year's series dedicated to celebration of our school's 40th anniversary. This performance showed that our band raised the level of our playing again. Our professional guest star - Radek Zapadlo on tenor saxophone brought even more enthusiasm and the audience enjoyed our solo exchanges as well. The club was overcrowded again and everyone enjoyed our singers Tereza Koleckarova and Zdenek Melin with their new repertoire additions. See the mp3 and videos and our new pictures! |

Big Band ZUS Isi Krejciho made it's success at International Music Festival Ceska Kamenice 2009's competition. Our trophys are the following: 2nd place and 2 certificates of merit - to Tereza Koleckarovafor singing and to myself for sax playing. Great success and with this weekend trip we closed up our series of concerts for this school year and we are looking forward to bring you more swinging music after summer vacation! |
